Vouglans gorges
The road circuit around Lac de Vouglans reveals successive viewpoints over the limestone gorges and turquoise water. Access conditions may vary by season.
In bad weather
In overcast weather, the Vouglans gorges take on a mysterious, dramatic atmosphere. Viewpoints in the clouds have their own magic. For a full indoor retreat, return to Lons and its cultural resources (La Maison de la Vache Qui Rit, museums, Arcades).

Day 1: Belvédère des 4 lacs (~25 km, Clairvaux-les-Lacs). 360° panorama of the Jura from wooded ridges. Swimming at Lac de Clairvaux. Return to Lons for dinner. Day 2: Lac de Vouglans (~50 km). A 35 km-long reservoir with striking views from the limestone cliffs. Kayaking or paddleboarding on the lake in season. Relaxed alternative: the Perrigny greenway for wide open natural spaces just outside your door.
